Public Outreach
We can provide outreach programs for organised groups and schools. Most of these efforts take place at the Abisko Scientific Research Station, where a lecture hall with a capacity of 70 people is available or the naturum Abisko, which has a capacity of 100 people. Alternatively, online lectures or presentations can be conducted via Teams or Zoom.
Outreach lectures, primarily on Arctic climate change and Abisko research activities, are typically 20 to 45 minutes long, with extra time reserved for questions. Other outreach activities can include visits to research experimental sites, participation in research activities for students and teachers, and citizen science projects. Note, it is the responsibility of the organisation or school to book the lecture hall at ANS (https://www.polar.se/en/research-support/abisko-scientific-research-station/) or the naturum (https://www.lansstyrelsen.se/norrbotten/besoksmal/naturum-i-norrbottens-lan/naturum-abisko.html?). Please get in touch with keith.larson@umu.se (with cc par.bystrom@umu.se, director of CIRC) for questions or bookings.
