Abisko Public Outreach Program

We provide outreach programs for the public, organized groups and schools in collaboration with the Abisko Scientific Research Station. Most of these efforts take place at the Research Station where there is a lecture hall with capacity for 70 persons. We can also arrange programs in the lecture hall at the naturum Abisko which has a capacity of 100 persons. Outreach lectures on primarily on Arctic climate change and Abisko research activities. Other outreach activities include visits to research experimental sites, participation in research activities for students and teachers, and citizen science project.

To learn more, please contact Keith Larson. To request use of the lecture halls at the Abisko Scientific Research Station or naturum Abisko, you must contact them to reserve a date. All outreach activities are free, but availability is limited, please contact us well in advance of your visit. In general, we do not give tours of the Abisko Scientific Research Station as it is primarily laboratory, office and living spaces without any public spaces.
